Holden Village
A Place Apart
No roads lead to Holden Village, which makes the journey itself exceptional. Most visitors arrive by boat, taking the historic Lady of the Lake ferry from Chelan or Fieldâs Point to the Lucerne boat dock. There are also a small proportion of visitors who choose to complete the pilgrimage on foot â hiking into the Village from trails connected to the Pacific Crest Trail.
The isolation of the Village creates room for a unique way of life at Holden. As a âplace apart,â Holden inspires rhythms of living that vary with the seasons. Summer offers a diverse program menu from learning sessions by visiting faculty to art courses, family programs, and games. Other seasons offer their own rhythms, providing time for personal reflection, outdoor recreation, exploration of our art and craft studios, and good conversation.
Nestled in the mountains of the beautiful Glacier Peak Wilderness, Holden provides space for visitors to get back to basics. The Village welcomes all who seek rest and renewal to take part in daily rhythms of work, recreation, worship, and shared meals with good company.

Note that Holden transport does not meet the boat every day that the boat operates, so please be sure to plan your visit according to Holden transport dates.

Holden Village transport schedule aligns with the Lady of the Lake (slow boat) on Sun, Mon and Friday, and with the Lady Express on Wednesdays. They are only running one transport a day.
Please clearly label all of your luggage with your name and destination, Holden Village. Holden Village luggage tags are available in the Fields Point Concessions office.
